1856 1C PR64 PCGS. Snow-4. This scarce die pair shows a point at the bottom of the U in UNITED, and low leaves on the reverse. A small diagonal die line appears in the denticles below the right ribbon, on the lower reverse. Sharply struck and excellently preserved, this near-Gem displays reflective fields and attractive coral-red and steel-blue toning. Shallow mint-made lines, perhaps best described as roller marks, are noticeable across the central regions of the reverse. Neither hairlines nor contact marks are found on either side. The Snow-4 coins were probably struck in mid-1858, at the same time that the small letters proofs of that year were produced.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
