1856 1C PR63 PCGS. Snow-9. A razor-sharp representative with consistent almond-gold toning save for a couple of small and minutely granular areas beneath the O in ONE and the 56 in the date. The 1856 has always ranked among the most famous U.S. coins, and until recent decades nobody paid any attention to what die marriage a specific piece represented. Lately, the Snow-3 business strikes have gained popularity relative to the Snow-9 proofs, despite the higher production quality of the latter. In particular, the Snow-9 is usually well struck, while the Snow-3 often has strike doubling and peripheral incompleteness. The present piece provides an excellent combination of quality and value.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
