1856 1C MS63 PCGS. Snow-5. This rare variety was initially described by Rick Snow in 1992. It is attributed by a tiny die chip at the center of the base of U in UNITED, and by a centering dot on the reverse that appears just beneath the lip of the upper left serif of the N in CENT. According to Snow, fewer than 35 examples of this die pair may exist today in all grades.
This high grade survivor reveals impressively sharp striking details on each side, and mild reflectivity is noted in the fields. The even golden-brown coloration is quite attractive. A small abrasion and a faint pinscratch reside close together, just above the date, but no other mentionable surface blemishes are evident. An important and conservatively graded representative of this famous and ever-popular issue.
From The Park Cities Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
