Seated Dollars 1855 PCGS graded Proof 62. <b>With two tone or "cameo" contrast from the frosted device seem to float upon the reflective mirror field. This specimen has especially attractive satiny devices, with Liberty and eagle choice, glowing, against the naturally toned fields. A few minor hairlines are evident, as are one or two minute lint marks -- the latter characterize the few known Proofs struck in 1855. Surfaces are toned champagne gold to blue, with bright shimmering iridescence in the darker hues that encircle the rim. Proof mintage is unknown for 1855, as it is for many other early (pre-1858) seated Liberty issues. Before the mint began selling Proofs to collectors in 1858, records we not kept of the production numbers each year. Proofs were made to be used as gifts to mint visitors and friends of the mint managers.</b> <p align="center">Superior Galleries was founded in 1929 and has been a leader in
