<B>1855-S $5 AU58 NGC.</B></I> Though the San Francisco Mint produced the second-highest number of half eagles out of five mints for this year, the comparatively heavy circulation they faced makes them nearly as scarce as the products of the more celebrated branch mints. The present piece has excellent luster and just a trace of friction on the solidly struck devices. The pale orange-gold surfaces have a trace of yellow.
