1855 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-170a, R.8, PR64 PCGS. 113.6 grains. Thirteen stars surround an eagle that is flying slightly upwards, similar to the Christian Gobrecht/Titian Peale flying eagle design for the Gobrecht dollars but with a longer, curved neck to the eagle. The date 1855 is below with slanted 5s, and the reverse is similar to the large cent. The planchet is slightly smaller than the large cent, but larger than the famous 1856 Flying Eagle cent. Struck with a plain edge in an alloy of 86% copper, 14% nickel, per the PCGS insert. Orange borders frame olive-gray centers. Well preserved and typically struck with a minor retained obverse lamination at 1 o'clock. Struck from boldly clashed dies.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
