<B>1855 G$1 MS62 NGC.</B></I> A miscalculation doomed Longacre's initial design for the Large Diameter, Small Head gold dollar. The relief was too high, which caused the indistinct central details seen on most examples, though not the present piece. This Mint State 1855 dollar is an excellent example of this three-year type.
