September 12 was the final day of production for this interesting private relic medal, as it was the 144th anniversary of the sinking of the <I>S.S. Central America</B></I>. Struck at the Presidio using bullion from ingots recovered from the <I>S.S. Central America</B></I>. As made, although the PCGS holder has a few wispy marks that unfairly reflect upon the pristine coin.
