<B>1855 $3 MS62 PCGS.</B></I> The 50,555 pieces struck for this second-year issue was a steep drop from the mintages for the previous year, and though the denomination lingered for 35 years, it never played an active role in America's economy. This lovely example is unworn with subtly lustrous yellow-gold surfaces. The obverse is lightly abraded, but the reverse is more appealing with less frequent marks.
