<B>1855 $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> While relatively available in the lower grades of Uncirculated (for a quarter eagle from the 1850s), the availability of the 1855 thins out noticeably at the MS64 level. This is a lovely coin and one that strongly suggests a full MS65 grade. The surfaces are softly frosted and there are no reportable abrasions on either side. The obverse is several shades lighter in hue than the reverse, which has a pronounced reddish color. Slightly misaligned dies cause a needle-sharp strike on the lower obverse and upper reverse, while the remainder of the piece displays minor softness.
