Among all Braided Hair half cents, the 1855 is one of the most commonly seen in Mint State grades, although it is still rare as a proof with less than 50 pieces known. The surfaces have deep olive and gold color with some additional iridescent toning. It is sharply struck with light contrast between the fields and devices. Both sides have full reflectivity. A number of tiny lint marks can be seen in the fields, especially on the obverse. EAC PR60.
