1854-O 50C Arrows MS67 NGC.
1854-O 50C Arrows MS67 NGC. Doubled Date, 54 touch. Breen-4852. One would be hard pressed to find a more original representative of this important Seated Half Dollar type, and examples that rival it in technical quality are also rare. The strike is among the strongest that we have seen on an 1854-O Arrows Half. Every feature (the obverse star centrils and the eagle's right leg on the reverse included) is fully brought up, this despite a shattered obverse die as evidenced by numerous cracks (as produced) around the periphery. There is a reverse die break (also as struck) through the top of the eagle's head to the D of UNITED. Blushes of powder-blue and orange-russet patina are sprinkled over otherwise silver-gray surfaces. Fully frosted with remarkably smooth and abrasion-free features for the issue as well as the type. A faint and certainly not distracting obverse planchet streak (as struck) over and before Liberty's legs is noted for pedigree purposes. Population: 1 in 67, 2 finer (11/03). Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
