According to the Wiley-Bugert Seated half reference, 55 head dies and 33 tail dies were used for the total emission. Heavy die cracks are seen on the obverse of this variety, which is quite scarce according to Seated half specialist Dick Osburn. Moderate amounts of steel-gray toning are accented with golden-blue highlights, particularly on the reverse. Well defined, even at this late obverse die state. An important branch mint example of this short-lived design type.
