<B>1854-O $3 AU55 NGC.</B></I> As the only three dollar gold piece from the New Orleans Mint, this issue has many collectors who chase a severely limited supply, likely no more than 500 pieces, according to Winter. This Choice AU piece has light wear on the highpoints, which are softly struck as expected for the majority of this issue. Evidence of die lapping is prevalent on the reverse; this includes the ribbon, the left side of which is strong, while the right side is weak. The radiant yellow-gold surfaces have a hint of honey-gold on each side.
