<B>1854-O $3 AU53 NGC.</B></I> This appears to be a late die state as there is no trace of the normally prominent die crack through the mintmark, which would indicate much of it was polished away. Further evidence of lapping is seen by the disconnected ribbons above the bow, and the lapping may have been so aggressive that it also affected the 85 in the date which is notably weak on this piece. Even wear is seen over the highpoints.
