1854 N-22 R3+ MS60+Lustrous light bluish steel brown with generous traces of mellowed mint red remaining, mostly on the obverse. Choice except for a shallow dig nestled between the N & E in ONE. M-LDS, die state b. The dash from the right top of the 4 is gone and the fields are flowlined. A shallow low spot covers most of the cheek and extends slightly down into the neck. The hair at the ear is not affected but the earlobe is weakened a bit by the low spot. This cent has great eye appeal for the grade. Tied for CC#10 in the Grellman census. Comes with a very nice provenance.Certificate Number: Pedigree: Ex Thomas D. Reynolds 11/7/1987-Wesley A. Rasmussen, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Superior 2/8/1998:461-R. S.
