1854 N-19 R3 NGC graded MS64 Brown.
1854 N-19 R3. NGC graded MS-64 Brown. Lustrous light chocolate and bluish steel brown with generous traces of original mint red showing on both sides. Excellent eye appeal, just a hint of rub on the highest points from mint state. The notable marks are a very shallow low spot on the jaw (caused by debris on the die), a small nick in the dentils over the first T in STATES, and a tiny diagonal nick under the E in CENT. These marks are trivial but can help identify this cent. MDS, die state b, with the usually seen arcing die crack that crosses the upper part of the obverse. Our grade is AU58, CC#8 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the NGC label.
Estimated Value $200-UP.
