Bright original mint red mellowing to bluish steel brown on the highpoints, 85% of the mint color remaining. A gem cent except for a small spot of darker steel toning just left of the ear and a couple more in the hair to the right, but these spots do not contain any trace of carbon or other verdigris. A beautiful cent, EAC grade MS64. MDS die state b. Tied for finest known honors with one other example that doesn't have nearly as much original mint color.
