1854 H10C Arrows PR65 NGC. Al Blythe, in his The Compl
1854 H10C Arrows PR65 NGC. Al Blythe, in his The Complete Guide to Liberty Seated Half Dimes, writes that 16 to 20 half dime proofs were produced in 1854. NGC and PCGS have certified a total of 26 examples, eight in Gem proof and two finer (1/07). Arrows coinage is very rare in proof format, and it has an enduring popularity as so many collectors attempt a type set of 19th century proof coinage. The short-lived Arrows type is a key to such a collection, and proofs are rarely offered for sale except when a major collection is dispersed. The appearance of this coin is notably different from a business strike 1854. The design motifs show full definition, and the fields are deeply and evenly reflective on each side. Both sides exhibit medium intensity cobalt-blue and golden-brown toning over luminous surfaces. The surfaces are also seemingly free of any mentionable abrasions.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
