<B>1854 G$1 Type Two MS64 PCGS.</B></I> The redesigned Type Two gold dollars featured an enlargement of 2 mm over the Type One planchets, as well as the new Indian Princess Head design on the obverse. Unfortunately, the new design also juxtaposed the highpoints of each side, leading to poor striking qualities. Due to their generous mintages, the 1854 and 1855 P-mint gold dollars are those that type collectors usually turn to for a Type Two specimen of this short-lived gold dollar design. The present piece offers lustrous orange-yellow surfaces that show the typical moderate clash marks on each side. Aside from a few stray, tiny luster grazes, however, the surfaces are nearly free of distractions of any sort.
