1854-D $3 AU50 NGC. Variety 1-A. Ex: Richmond Collection. As usual for this poorly-produced issue, the striking details are noticeably weak in some areas, especially on the denticles and on the denominational 3 on the upper reverse field. Light straw-gold toning is noted across both sides of this AU survivor. A bit of highpoint wear seems evident on Liberty's hair and crown. A small mark is located on Liberty's jaw, and a couple more are situated on the reverse, above DOLLAR. Faint die clash marks are nestled adjacent to Liberty's throat. Because of its extremely low mintage of 1,760 pieces, this date is very popular with collectors. It is also the only three dollar gold issue from the Dahlonega Mint.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
