<B>1854 $3 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> The first-year of issue 1854 three dollar piece, like many other first year coins, was undoubtedly saved in large numbers. Roughly 5,000 or so examples have been certified by NGC and PCGS in all grades, but with a concentration in About Uncirculated and the lower levels of Mint State. Near-Gems, the condition of the coin in this lot, can be acquired with a little patience and searching, but higher grade specimens are elusive.<BR>Both sides are awash in blazing luster and highly attractive orange-gold and mint-green patination. The design features are sharply impressed, except that portions of Liberty's hair are a tad soft.
