<B>1854 $3 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> The first-year-of-issue 1854 three dollar piece, like many other first-year coins, was undoubtedly saved in large numbers. Roughly 5,000 or so examples have been certified by PCGS and NGC in all grades, but with a concentration in About Uncirculated and the lower levels of Mint State. Near-Gems, the condition of the coin in this lot, can be acquired with a little patience and searching, but higher-grade specimens are elusive.<BR> Both sides are awash in blazing luster and highly attractive orange-gold and mint-green patination. The design features are sharply impressed, except that portions of Liberty's hair are a tad soft.
