<B>1854 $3 MS64 ANACS.</B></I> The 1854 may have the highest mintage of the denomination, but at the MS64 level, it is noticeably scarcer than the 1878, which was presumably set aside in greater number. In a sense, the 1854 is its own one-year type, since DOLLARS has significantly larger letters on the 1855 and later dates. This gorgeous near-Gem is crisply struck and uncommonly smooth.
