1854 $20 Kellogg & Co. Twenty Dollar AU58 NGC. Short Arrows. K-1a, R.4. A well balanced representative with ample luster and tinges of reddish patina about the devices. The rims, devices, and fields are moderately abraded, as expected on a large, lightly circulated Territorial. Kellogg & Co. was the last major entry in the field of private coinage in San Francisco, with 1854 being the first year of production. It is assumed that Albert Kuner was the engraver for this and other Kellogg issues. The 1854 Kellogg twenties were struck in the interim between the dissolution of the U.S. Assay Office of Gold and the start of production at the San Francisco Mint. Listed on page 359 of the 2007 Guide Book.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
