1853 Obverse as BG-207, before repolishing (BG-208 should have been given a lower BG number), dated reverse (flat top 3). The last round ¼ Dollar attributed to Joseph Brothers. Extremely Rare; 9 specimens (probably including duplication) recorded in California Pioneer Fractional Gold, none reported since. Brilliant Uncirculated, spot of discoloration at chin (no rough area in planchet behind head). PCGS MS62. According to California Pioneer Fractional Gold, this specimen is from Bowers and Merena Texas 1/10/1992, Lot 4136, ex Brownlee; ex Superior Lee and Shaffer Collections 9/25/1998, Lot 21; ex Lee Collection, but it is clearly not the same coin, and apparently Jack did not buy it directly from the Texas auction because he paid several times the price realized there. Evidently one of the other 8 examples. Only size public sales (possibly the same coin) and none finer sold. Serial# 26703047 Totheroh Collection HKA#63346
