<B>1853<P1C> One Cent, Judd-151, Pollock-178, Low R.6, PR63 NGC.</B></I> The obverse is the same as that used to coin regular issue 1853 quarter eagles. The reverse shows the denomination ONE CENT within a laurel wreath. Struck in a 40% nickel, 60% copper alloy with a reeded edge. Struck slightly off center toward 9 o'clock, the right side border, the upper obverse stars, and Liberty's hair bun are softly defined. The left side, on the other hand, is intricately impressed by the dies. The unmarked slate-gray surfaces have occasional tan hues, and a spot on the wreath is noted at 3 o'clock.
