1853 H10C Arrows MS67 PCGS. Pursuant to the Mint Act o 1853[H10C] Arrows MS67 PCGS.
1853<H10C> Arrows MS67 PCGS. Pursuant to the Mint Act of February 21, 1853, that reduced the official silver coin weights of the half dime, dime, quarter, and half dollar to the point where melting would no longer be profitable, arrows were placed on either side of the date as distinctive markings to distinguish between the heavier older coins and lighter newer ones. The 1853 With Arrows has the highest mintage (13,210,020 pieces) of all of the dates in the half dime series, and as such is a common date readily available in all but the highest Mint State grades. PCGS and NGC have, to date, certified only 16 examples in MS67, the grade of the piece offered in the present lot.
This coin displays excellent luster, and is visited by speckles of light russet color around the borders. The design elements are sharply struck, with strong definition in the star centers, in Liberty's hair, and on the leaf ribbing. Impeccably preserved surfaces are devoid of mentionable abrasions, and display mint-made clash marks on both sides. Population: 7 in 67, 0 finer (4/06).
