1852 PG$1 Gold Dollar, Judd-147, Pollock-175, Low R.7, PR66 Red and Brown NGC. An annular pattern with a large central perforation, which would have allowed a larger diameter gold dollar. The annular format limits the devices to a wreath and scrollwork. Gold dollars were vital to commerce in 1852, since silver coins were worth more than face value and did not circulate. Struck in copper with a plain edge. Attractively toned in cherry-red and apple-green. Flawless aside from light mint-made roller marks on the reverse near 4 o'clock. Census: 3 in 66 Red and Brown, 0 finer (1/08).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
