1852<PG$1> Gold Dollar, Judd-147, Pollock-175, Low R.7, PR63 Red and Brown PCGS. An annular pattern with a large central perforation, which would have allowed a larger diameter gold dollar. Gold dollars were vital to commerce in 1852, since silver coins were worth more than face value and did not circulate. Toned rose-red and aqua. The obverse is well preserved; the reverse has thin marks at 12 and 3 o'clock. Struck in copper with a plain edge, and encapsulated in a first generation PCGS holder.
