1852-O H10C MS64 PCGS. The 1852-O has a deceptively high mintage of 260,000 pieces. It is deceptively high because the majority struck were melted in 1852 and early 1853 as they were worth more melted than their face value. That situation was remedied in February 1853, but for silver coins produced in the early 1850s widespread melting renders mintages largely irrelevant. Scarce in all grades, and especially challenging in mint condition, only 13 other pieces have been so graded by PCGS and NGC combined with 11 finer (8/07). The satiny surfaces of this coin are brilliant throughout and the striking details are fully detailed on each side. Light die clash marks are the only mentionable "flaws" on the obverse or reverse.

Coin Engraver: Christian Gobrecht

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
