<B>1852-O $2 1/2 AU58 PCGS.</B></I> Extra Heavy O, Breen-6219. Although many were minted, this issue is surprisingly elusive and difficult to find in any grade, much less Mint State. The Bass Collection contained only a single Uncirculated piece, according to Garrett-Guth. This piece shows the extra-bold O mintmark incused deeply into the die, with the mintmark heavier on the right side than on the left. The pretty orange-gold surfaces show just a trace of rub, but no major abrasions. The strike is weak on the eagle's claws and left (facing) leg, as usually seen.
