1852 N-4 R1 MS64. Mint red fading to bluish steel brown, about half the faded mint color remaining, a bit more on the reverse. The surfaces are satiny and very attractive. The only notable defects are a very tiny vertical nick right of the lower lip, a couple more in the field under the tip of the nose, and a very tiny rim nick at star 7. The upper half of the neck is covered with an extremely shallow low spot (caused by traces of debris on the die). MDS, die state a late. The fields are flowlined but the dies are uncracked. A choice cent, very close to gem. CC#3 in the Grellman census. DWH #2280.
Estimated Value $400-UP.
