<B>1852 H10C PR65 PCGS.</B></I> From an estimated proof mintage of a mere 10 pieces comes this carefully preserved, richly toned Gem specimen. Dense, obviously original sea-green and copper-red toning dominates on both sides, but iridescent accents of gold and purple-rose are also noteworthy. The design details are razor-sharp, and some reflectivity becomes evident beneath the deep patina when the piece is rotated beneath a lamp. A few wispy die striations are noted on obverse and reverse alike, but the pleasing surfaces are free of bothersome contact marks. This is obviously a rare coin, as well as being the only Gem proof certified by PCGS. NGC has graded two coins at PR65, with none finer.
