1852 G$1 MS66 PCGS. This fully lustrous Premium Gem has a penetrating strike that brings up each detail of the hair and wreath. A lens is required to locate even trivial imperfections. 1852 was the midpoint of the denomination's 1851 to 1853 glory years, a time when gold dollars were vital to commerce. A massive influx of California-mined gold reduced the traditional gold to silver ratio, and drove silver coins from circulation. Obtained by Karl Stecher Sr. from Thomas L. Elder during the 1930s.A collector's envelope with the notations "Perfect collection" and "Elder 904" is included with the lot. Population: 14 in 66, 5 finer (1/07).
From The Stecher Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
