1852 DTS$1 Dollar, Judd-134, Pollock-161, R.7, Proof, Plated, NCS. Die trials striking of the restrike 1852 Seated Dollar, struck in copper with a reeded edge and then silver plated. This is an important coin due to the rarity of the 1852 date (1,100 originals produced) in the regular issue Seated Dollar series. All design elements are sharply defined, and the surfaces display a bright, untoned sheen that is somewhat glossy. There are scattered hairlines, most notably on the reverse, with some of the underlying copper in evidence over a few of the raised features on that side. The first example of this rare and significant die trials striking that we have offered. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
