<B>1852-D $5 AU53 PCGS.</B></I> Variety 28-U. The 1852-D has an uncommonly high mintage for a Dahlonega product with 91,584 pieces struck. However, the vast majority of survivors are VF-XF. A pleasing AU piece such as this makes an excellent D-mint type coin. The surfaces lack the heavy abrasions usually seen, with only numerous, tiny ones present. The only exception is a shallow scratch on the reverse above the uppermost arrowhead.
