<B>1852-C $2 1/2 AU50 PCGS.</B></I> Variety 14-I. Like most Charlotte Mint quarter eagle issues, the 1852-C has a tiny mintage, and is rare regardless of grade. A mere 9,772 pieces were struck, and survivors with some remaining mint luster are in strong demand from Southern gold specialists. This example has some softness on the eagle's left (facing) leg, but the overall strike is crisp, particularly near the rims.
