<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>Interesting Official Army Register For 1852, 48pp, 12mo, C. Alexander, Printer for the Adjutant General’s Office, Washington. Listing, by corps, of names, corps, department or regiment with army rank, dates of commission, brevets and former commissions, states where born and where appointed. Among those named are many notable Civil War generals. Listed first under General Staff is Major General <b>Winfield Scott</b>. Others include <b>David E. Twiggs</b>;<b> Robert E. Lee</b>;<b> Montgomery Meigs</b>;<b> Peter</b> [sic] <b>G. T. Beauregard</b>; <b>Henry Halleck</b>;<b> Joseph Hooker</b>; <b>James Longstreet</b>;<b> George E. Pickett</b>;<b> Joseph E. Johnson</b>;<b> George Meade</b>;<b> Barnard Bee</b>;<b> Ulysses Grant</b>; to name but a few. Other statistics include staff and cadets at West Point in 1851, among whom are <b>James McPherson</b>,<b> Oliver O. Howard</b> and <b>G.W. Custis Lee</b>. Plus an organizational table and pay scales; number of men in the militia; military posts, etc. Text crisp and clear. Occasional penciled notations, including an interesting paragraph in bottom margin of last page referencing England, in small part, “<i>She is preparing for the war that she sees must come with us.</i>..” Front cover and first flyleaf detached; light soiling and stains on cover; else in good condition.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
