<B>1852 50C MS65 NGC.</B></I> The low mintage 1852 half dollar is seldom offered in any Mint State grade and is quite elusive as a Gem. The obverse of this essentially untoned example reveals numerous die polishing lines that run diagonally across the lower half of that side. While the obverse detail is mostly strong, a hint of softness is seen in Liberty's hair curls and the upper stars. The luster is exceptional. The reverse is as fine as one can locate for the No Motto type, boldly defined with only tiny breaks in the radiant luster. A light spot of color appears near the D in UNITED.
