1852 $10 Wass Molitor Ten Dollar, Small Head
1852 $10 Wass Molitor Ten Dollar, Small Head XF40 NGC. Small Head. K-3, R.7. This is a very rare variety at all grade levels. The reverse die for this elusive Wass, Molitor piece was purchased in late 1851 from Dubosq & Co., where it had been used to strike an 1850 ten dollar issue. The obverse design resembles that of the regular U.S. Liberty Head gold eagle, except that the inscription on Liberty's crown reads: "W.M. & Co." This piece is typically softly struck, as always, with pastel peach and lime-gold coloration and scattered small abrasions on each side. A special opportunity for the advanced specialist to acquire a high grade example of this rare territorial gold issue. Listed on Page 361 of the 2008 Guide Book.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
