Pre-Civil War newspaper dated Saturday January 25, 1851, The Union, Washington City D.C. 4 pgs with political news of the day, details of congressional speeches, an interesting article on a abolitionist meeting in Boston & The African Slave Trade. **** the paper is very fragile & has folds & tears throughout, as seen in photos, but still an interesting read for a 170 year old newspaper. also has a stamp on it from The Tennessee Historical Society, as well as the original owner's name handwritten in ink on the front.Â
