This is one of the earliest Dixie Arms replicas of an 1851 Navy Colt. Val Forgett started Dixie Arms in the late 1950s/ early 60s with the idea of having people be able to shoot and own replica arms without breaking the bank. This appears to be an early example of his work. Val contracted with Aldo Uberti to make replica Navy's. This wonderful piece has a brass frame and beautiful aged blue barrel, cylinder, load lever, trigger, hammer and wedge. The frame and backstrap and trigger guard are brass and the grips are aged walnut. It is believed this pistol is approximately 55 years old or better and has nicely aged to mimic the real thing. There are no markings on the gun and there is no cylinder scene. It functions perfectly and feels great in the hand. It looks and feels just like an original. A bonus is that this Navy comes in a wooden presentation case that has been with it the entire 55 years, as have the accessories. Accessories include: replica period powder flask, replica period cap box, replica period cap dispenser, replica period cleaning rod, lead balls, ball remover, oil bottle, period replica screw driver, and misc. items. Perfect for the collector or the black powder reenactor. NOTE: BLACK POWDER REPLICAS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE TO SOME MUNICIPALITIES. PLEASE CHECK YOUR LOCAL ORDINANCES BEFORE BIDDING.
