1851 N-38 R1 MS62+. Highly lustrous bluish steel brown with nearly a third of the original mint color remaining, mostly on the reverse. There is a faint wisp of reddish brown toning at star 10, a very light vertical nick on the jawline above the throat, and a small carbon spot at the dentils over the M in AMERICA plus another at the left top of the O in ONE. Excellent luster and eye appeal for the grade, very close to MS63. Sharply struck E-MDS, die state a. The points extending from the E and N in CENT are clear. Tied for CC#5 in the Grellman census. Removed from an NGC slab graded MS64RB (NGC label included). DWH #2224.
