1851 Colt Navy Revolver With Original Belt and Holster. This outfit was collected from the Sioux Indians at Pine Ridge reservation and resided in the Custer Battlefield Museum in Montana for over 10 years. This type of revolver was one of many sidearms used by warriors in the Battle of the Little Big Horn. This revolver shows heavy Indian use including notches on the barrel and tacks on the grips. The holster and belt also show Indian decoration including remnants of beadwork and tack designs. All could have been a battlefield pick up. Condition Report: Gun has brown finish, action does not work properly. Grips show wood losses and tacks added. Military style holster shows alligatoring on leather and wear to back top. Tacks added at time of use. Belt has 4 1/2" of billet replaced. Numerous tacks added at time of use. Remnants of beads dating to the 1860s are still present.
