1851 Colt, .36 caliber percussion Navy revolver with U.S. martial markings and inspections, serial number 68664. The Navy remains in original very good condition showing considerable traces of blue and case hardened finish. The barrel shows a good sharp barrel address and traces of blue in protected areas with good edges. The hammer and lever shows strong traces of case hardening and there is some vibrant colors on the inside where protected. The cylinder shows 20% to 30% lightoriginal cylinder scene and there is considerable case hardening remaining on the hammer. The cylinder shows some minor pitting and erosion and a light cleaning long ago during use which is now aging. The grips are good with small losses at the front of each toe and minor wear at the high points and edges with no visible cartouches. The frame is well marked with Colt’s patent and U.S. The wedge is matching and the action is good. The bore is good with some normal wear and age. Thefront sight is a period blade and post and the hammer has been enlarged to match the front sight which is a period addition found on many Colts that went West.. Est.: $2000-$4000
