<B>1851-C $5 AU58 NGC.</B></I> Variety 16-G, characterized by what branch mint gold pundit Douglas Winter calls a "punch" on Liberty's earlobe that resembles an earring. The antique-gold surfaces of this piece show only light abrasions, along with a good, if less than full strike. Considerable luster remains, as expected, and the eye appeal is equally generous. A nice near-Mint State example of this elusive issue, seldom seen finer.
