1851-C $2 1/2 AU58 NGC. Variety 13-G. The Charlotte Mint specialist can often identify the 1851-C quarter eagle by the obverse alone. This is because the issue usually comes with a couple of prominent strike-throughs on the lower obverse field. They are present on this unmarked and nicely struck example, but have no effect on the technical grade, and are seen more often than not on the '51-C. Mint workers were negligent in cleaning the die during the issue's production. Bright yellow-gold surfaces with the usual softness in the centers. Only 14,923 pieces were struck. Census: 17 in 58, 12 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
