This 1851 Colt Navy SN: 142376, Circa: 1863, comes with a complete historical provenance. It was owned and carried by one ''Benjamin Radcliff'', outlaw, horse thief and murderer. This Colt was used in the mid 1890's in Canon City, Colorado Territory to shoot down three citizens over an argument. Radcliff was captured by the Sheriff of Canon City, Colorado in 1895 and was hanged on February 7th, 1896. This Colt, the flask and complete historical record of Benjamin Radcliff from his birth, October 21, 1842 in Missouri, his outlaw record, court trial and hanging, along with period photographs of Radcliff, the cemetery site in Ott, Colorado were acquired from his descendants, the Kenneth Cross family of Belen, New Mexico in 1998. The action is good and lockup is tight. It shows the wear of time and usage and is the original condition as when it was returned to the family in 1896. A notarized letter from ''Western Arms & Trading Co.'' of Silver City, New Mexico is included with this set documenting the complete historical provenance. Much family research records are included. NOTE: A ''typo error'' from the August 13th 1985 Colorado Dept of Corrections shows a ''7'' rather than a''9'' reference the dates of capture and hanging. (1895-1896). For the Western Historical collector, this is as authentic and original as it gets. Payment by wire transfer only. Buyers Pay Actual Shipping and Handling Charges(see terms and conditions for more information).
