<B>1851 $5 MS62 PCGS.</B></I> Most 1851 half eagles seen are in grades of Extremely Fine and About Uncirculated. Mint State coins are seldom located (Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth, 2006). This MS62 specimen displays honey-gold surfaces with soft luster. The design elements are well brought up, except for minor weakness on the eagle's neck. A few minute contact marks are visible on each side.
